Did you know? | Part 6
Although many young legal professionals start their careers in a law firm, not all of them stay there. 1 in 3 lawyers who started their career at the Bar, leaves that sector within 10 years after graduation for a job in, amongst others, the corporate world or the public sector. This is because companies are mainly looking for legal professionals with work experience and are also less likely to offer summer internships for young talent. Moreover, general counsels usually have a background as a lawyer (60% of general counsels started their career in a law firm). Starting your career in a law firm is the ideal stepping-stone!
