From the running trails to the ruins of Machu Picchu, and from vol-au-vent to Evanescence. Meet Anna, who joined YouConnect in September as an HR Outsourcing Consultant. With a background in Business Studies and a strong talent for reading people, Anna combines drive and empathy to find the perfect match between candidate and client.

What are your interests/hobbies/passions outside of work?

Running is one of my biggest passions. Throughout the year, I regularly participate in half-marathons and am currently training for a full marathon. You’ll often see me at work with a bag full of running gear.

What is your ultimate holiday destination and why?

Two years ago, I visited Peru, which I’d crown as my ultimate travel destination. The country offers the perfect blend of culture, nature, and adventure. From the iconic Machu Picchu to the breathtaking Rainbow Mountain and the serene Humantay Lake, surrounded by snow-capped peaks. Peru also offers adventure: rafting on wild rivers, mountain biking in rugged terrain, and hiking through untouched nature. My next destination on the bucket list is Costa Rica!

What is your strongest sense?

My strongest sense is actually an extra one: the ability to read people. I’m very sensitive to the atmosphere in a room and can easily sense how others feel, even without many words.

What’s your favourite dish?

Anyone who knows me well knows that as soon as vol-au-vent is on the menu, all other dishes don’t stand a chance. It’s simply my favourite, and I can’t resist it!

Do you like music? If so, what is your all-time favourite?

I grew up in a musical family, with parents who were avid concert-goers. My all-time favourite is the American band Evanescence, who gained worldwide fame with “Bring Me to Life.” I’ve seen them live three times!

What is your role at YouConnect?

Since September, I’ve been working at YouConnect as an HR Outsourcing Consultant. I’m currently focused on internal training to ensure I’m ready for my first project.

What did you do before starting at YouConnect?

Before joining YouConnect, I completed my Business Administration studies, specialising in Personnel and Organisational Management. I also took an intensive three-month English language course in England and, out of interest, attended several courses from the Master's in Business Psychology.

What do you think are the most important skills for a recruitment consultant?

As a recruiter, it’s essential to have a strong drive. You’ll often hear “no,” but that shouldn’t discourage you. It’s important to remain persistent and work toward creating the perfect match between candidate and client. Communication is also key. You need to constantly switch between candidates and clients to manage expectations and make the right connections.

What makes YouConnect such a unique company?

At YouConnect, professionalism and sustainability are at the core. It’s not just about hitting KPIs; it’s about long-term success. The focus is on finding the right match, both for the candidate and the client, and the company always operates with transparency and honesty.

What’s your favourite interview question that always leads to valuable insights?

How would you describe yourself without mentioning your work or education? This often provides a different, more personal perspective and helps determine if someone is the right fit for the client.
