YouConnect New Year’s Event 2021

We're gratefully wrapping up 2020.

We’ve never seen anything like it, and yet, it has been a successful year on many levels. New team members joined YouConnect, and our business continued to grow. We connected a record number of Legal & HR professionals to a new chapter in their career, and successfully launched Recruitment & Selection Services in HR experts.

We must admit, some hurdles were not so easy to tackle and our resilience has been stretched as well. But to deal with the unexpected, we consistently built on our company values.

Our calls and meetings being mostly virtual, have become even more personal. Having our clients and candidates supporting us and sharing their best practices helped us throughout this peculiar year.

What better way to express our gratitude than to invite them to celebrate 2021 together! A celebration with great music performed by two wonderful artists. During this online concert, they will witness the dazzling world of these wonderful musicians. Songs on piano and guitar with a touch of folk, jazz, blues and other influences that have shaped them into the great performers they are today.

Who are the artists and what makes them a perfect match?

Pieter Peirsman made his television debut in 2013 in 'The best singer-songwriter of Flanders’, a music program on Vier, after which he was promptly invited by Jef Neve for a musical collaboration during Café Corsari on Eén. Since then, Jef and Pieter have worked together fairly regularly.

Since 2016, as singer and guitarist, Pieter has been a member of the permanent line-up of Hooverphonic. With his own band, Slow Pilot, he released his debut album Gentle Intruder in 2018. Last year, he toured the Flemish theatres with a tasteful performance about the life of the late singer Jeff Buckley. Some may remember Pieter from our party in February 2019, where he showed the best of himself in the good company of Maud Vanhauwaert.

Pianist/composer Jef Neve (1977) has become a prominent figure in his homeland Belgium, and his reputation is rapidly spreading to the rest of the world. He studied at the Lemmensinstituut in Leuven and graduated in 2000 as Master of Music in jazz and classical piano, both with great distinction. In 2001, he specialized in chamber music and was rewarded the diploma 'cum laude'. He has attended master classes with Brad Mehldau, Martial Solal, Lew Tabackin, Billy Hart, Bill Carothers, Kenny Werner, Bruce Barth and others.

At the end of January 2019, Jef started his tour through Flanders with Natalia: ‘Jef Neve meets Natalia in concert’. All venues were sold out instantly. From May 2019 onwards, he played around 45 concerts on the ‘Neve-Nobel’ tour, in a duo with the Dutch trumpet player Teus Nobel. The last few years, Jef has been focussing more on composition. All compositions are on YouTube twice, once as a full concert and once in a tutorial version given by Jef Neve himself.

So yes! We are very proud that we can connect our clients and candidates to these wonderful artists.

Wishing you all a wonderful 2021!
