Do I need to be 100% sure about a vacancy before going to an interview?
Not necessarily. A career move is an important decision and motivation often develops throughout the application process. This is also a reality we explicitly make our clients aware of.
An application process is a moment of reflection for both sides. Factors such as your connection with your future manager, the team, the office atmosphere and mutual expectations all play a major role and you usually only discover these during the interviews.
So, see an application as a two-way process. It’s not only up to you to convince the company, they also need to convince you. Don’t hesitate to ask questions and use the process to feel whether there’s really a match.
Doubts or open questions shouldn’t hold you back from exploring an opportunity that appeals to you. Exploring a role doesn’t commit you to a decision, but it can offer valuable new insights. In practice, some of the best-fitting career opportunities actually emerge from an initial exploratory conversation.
