Climate action: how we try to make a difference

GoOcean

Since 2025, we have been supporting the GoOceanproject in Madagascar, contributing to the replanting of mangroves in the Majunga region. In collaboration with the social enterprise Bôndy, we focus on restoring degraded areas, strengthening local biodiversity, and improving the living conditions of local communities.

GoForest

GoForest, a partner of CO2logic, is committed to encouraging both companies and individuals to take meaningful climate action. Planting trees is not a short-term solution, but a structural step towards a lasting environmental impact. Their climate experts select the most impactful reforestation projects worldwide and monitor them closely.

At the end of 2021, we invested in the planting of 1,200 trees in the Peruvian Amazon, a region of great ecological and social importance. Since 2022, we link the planting of trees to every successful placement of a candidate with a client.

Through this platform, you can learn more about the Peruvian and Belgian projects we currently support, as well as the total number of trees we have planted so far.

Gentse Gruute Kuis

Since 2024, our team has been participating in the Gentse Gruute Kuis, an annual initiative in which thousands of Ghent residents clean up their city together. By collecting litter, we actively contribute to a cleaner, healthier living environment and raise awareness around waste and sustainability. Together, we take small but visible steps toward a cleaner Ghent.

Jane Goodall Institute

In 2026, we are also supporting a new initiative: the Jane Goodall Institute. This international organization, founded in 1977 by Dr. Jane Goodall, is committed worldwide to nature conservation, biodiversity, and sustainable development. In addition to scientific research and local community projects, the institute encourages young people to create positive change themselves through the Roots & Shoots program. We are proud to contribute to their long-term impact on people, animals, and the environment.

Public Transport

From the very beginning, YouConnect carefully considered the location of its offices. All offices are easily accessible by public transport, and we strongly encourage its use. All employees also receive a Brompton folding bike.

Sustainability Officer

One of our employees, Sharon, serves as Sustainability Officer at YouConnect and monitors our ecological footprint. In addition to initiatives such as a smart thermostat, ecological cleaning products, and striving for a zero-paper policy, Sharon manages a dedicated budget that enables us to implement various sustainability initiatives each year (e.g., GoForest). She also launched Veggie Thursday, an initiative warmly supported by all colleagues.

Public transport

Right from the start, YouConnect has made the office locations a priority. All our offices are a breeze to reach with public transport, and we’re not shy about encouraging its use. What's more, all of our staff are given a Brompton folding bike.

Sustainability officer

One of our staff, Sharon, is also YouConnect's Sustainability Officer. Her job is to monitor our environmental footprint. In addition to things like a smart thermostat, eco-friendly cleaning products, and the pursuit of a zero paper policy, Sharon is allocated a budget that we use every year to meet special goals (e.g. Go Forest). She has also launched VeggieThursday, which the whole team is enthusiastic about.
