What your future may hold
As a Legal Counsel (M&A), you will:
- Manage the legal process for M&A activities in Belgium and France, from due diligence to closing.
- Draft, review, and negotiate legal transaction documents, ensuring risk mitigation and compliance.
- Work closely with finance and business teams on acquisition strategies and implementation.
- Liaise with external legal advisors when needed.
- Offer legal advice to the acquired companies on commercial contracts, corporate law, and governance matters, staying involved post-closing.
- Operate in a small, dynamic legal team and report to the Head of Legal for Belgium, Netherlands and France, based in Amsterdam.
Your skillset
You are a business-minded legal professional with:
- A Master’s degree in law from a Belgian or French university.
- 3+ years of M&A experience, ideally gained at a law firm.
- Fluency in Dutch, French, and English.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills with a pragmatic approach.
- An entrepreneurial, pragmatic and down-to-earth mindset. You are able to work independently and take ownership.
- The ability to balance legal and business priorities effectively.
- A positive attitude, team spirit, and sense of humor. This is essential in a fast-paced environment.
- Ideally, you have a natural liking for software and technology.
